Devgn may also lose in terms of distributor share. A distributor gets up to 80% of the net ticket price (total ticket price minus entertainment tax) in a single-screen theatre compared with a 52.5% share in multiplexes. So it is a double whammy for Devgn, says Bhargava.
Devgn is also losing a significant share of money because ticket prices for multiplexes and single-screen theatres are expected to rise by up to 20% next week. But he is unruffled, saying his movie will take a few days more to make money due to the lesser number of screens
