SuccessVsJoy

This small book by Geet Sethi, makes it for a breezy reading. Good printing, small hardbound edition makes it a good carry anywhere. Work and its aftermath are well dissected and presented from the perspective of a person who conceived and stuck to a single goal–perfection.

On a sidenote, people who had their taste of success will enjoy this book better than people on their way.:-)

Four point someone

Four point someone-By Chetan Bhagat

This novel takes the point of view of the back-benchers..the laggards…intelligent people who refuse a part of the sytem. Theri rebellion is simple…almost simplistic. Hari, Alok and Ryan have very little in common..except their friendship and the three letters I.I.T.
¼br /> The novel is well written with good hurmor and moves with good pace.
And it achieves its purpose…it takes you back to your college…your bridge between teenage and adult hood. In a lot of ways a professional college is where you feel like a guinea pig…sometimes in ur own hands.

First fag, first kiss…etc to name a very few of the firsts that feature in the novel.

Da Vinci Code

The book starts off with an old curator of a famous French museum found dead in the museum just few blocks away from a DaVinci painting, the dead body displaying a strange posture…a Professor, a beautiful French lady police officer form an an unusual team that gets drawn in to the mystery. While the central plot is about unravelling the mystery behind the murder,  and the clues that are placed to unravel a bigger mystery, the sub plots and the history about ‘paganism’ and ‘female-worship’ should get anyone hooked to the novel. Like any other murder mystery set against several countries, the book moves at a fast pace with its own ‘red-herrings’ and twists to throw the reader off-guard and thus sustaining his interest.
Overall a good read…leaving some interesting questions behind about Christianity. Does make one wonder over ‘Shakti’ sampradaya and ‘Tantric’ worship.
